Organic farming conferenceJoin the Northeast Organic Farming Association of N.H. for its 19th annual Winter Conference on Feb. 13 to 14. This year’s virtual celebration of organic farming, gardening and food will feature a keynote address by Mukhtar Idhow, executive director of the Organization for Refugee and Immigrant Success (ORIS), and more than 12 workshops and live Q & A’s with a diverse group of authors, farmers and speakers addressing the conference theme of Cultivating Stewardship: Health, Harmony, and Resilience. Idhow’s keynote will illustrate how ORIS is working to cultivate stewardship, health, harmony, and resilience right here in New Hampshire through sustainable agriculture, food access, and economic opportunities with programs such as Fresh Start Farms, the New American Sustainable Agriculture Project, the Mobile Market, and the New American Farmers Cooperative. Workshops will cover topics including Earth repair, healing the land, living soils, organic seeds, Indigenous foodways, fruit and nut trees, herbalism and immune health, farmland access, agricultural justice, and more. Learn from the experts in the comfort of your own home as we look towards the arrival of spring, our next growing season, and building a more resilient organic farming community in New Hampshire. For details and registration, visit nofanh.org/winterconference.HopkintonTax help available Volunteer tax preparers will be at the Hopkinton Village Library Community Room on Wednesdays and Thursdays in February.  Appointments are required, to request an appointment for free tax help go to nhtaxhelp.org (preferred method).
